Emerging through drawing, painting, video, and installation, my work is concerned with communicating the inarticulable by giving form to our abstract knowledge. Existing on the edge where the subtle meets the overwhelming via sense and experience, I aim to question our understanding of (non)sense within today’s information age, marked by escalating social isolation and moral detachment.

Drawing from lived experience, history, and observations of modern society, I seek out existing manifestations of the Sublime and transcendence in the overlooked, suppressed, or mundane. Guided by studies in cinematography and critical media perspectives, I use tight cropping and close-ups to strip images of their given identity and associations. By disrupting what is familiar, I aim to break through digital numbness, inciting confusion and curiosity to open up multiple ways of seeing.

A central motif in my work is the study of the eye. I explore how different angles of the gaze act as a mirror to the audience’s internal being and focus, building an autonomous relationship between the work and the viewer.

My current work explores how the human condition is continually reshaped by technology, media, globalization, capitalism, and competing belief systems, reawakening a sense of humaneness and an openness to see beyond the first impression.
